Actually, the Phoenix lineup is pretty hot this year, with more than 10 great acts playing. Here are just some of the most popular ones coming to the area that you might not want to miss.
10. Santana on September 18
Though many members of the younger crowd might associate Santana with the Cheerios squad on Glee and not much else, the rest of us know him as a pretty darn good guitar player. He’ll be playing at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
9. Taylor Swift on October 21
Country music fans won’t want to miss sweet-faced Taylor Swift and her cutesy, and yes, enjoyable songs. She’ll be crooning about Romeo and Juliet and other adorable songs at the Jobing.com Arena.
8. Kings of Leon on September 6
Where I am from, the Kings of Leon—as popular as they are—are a bit of a joke, since the whole “Pigeongate” scandal. Still, their many fans may want to see them perform at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
7. Sade and John Legend on September 2
What a smooth operating team this is sure to be! Take your sweetheart to see this sure to be romantic concert at the US Airways Center.
6. Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow on August 5
This one is always a crowd pleaser, especially when the two team up for their famous duet about drinking, putting pictures away, and coming back home. See them together at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
5. Matthew Morrison on July 19
This Glee superstar has a kickin’ voice to go with his adorableness. He’s touring throughout the country this summer singing while his cast mates are on their own tour. See him live at the Comerica Theater.
4. Katy Perry on August 3
In August, you’ll probably be hot rather than cold, and you’ll want to be in rather than out of the air conditioning, and—oh, screw it, let Katy sing the song for you at the Comerica Theater.
3. Def Leppard on September 3
These rockers are still at it, still touring, and still providing the best music for everything from stripping to goofy movie soundtracks to the epic season finale of Supernatural. See them if you can at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
2. Maroon 5 and Train on September 17
This will probably be one of the most popular concerts of the year, and why wouldn’t it be? As a decent fan of both groups (I still scream “My song!” whenever several songs from both bands come on the radio, particularly “Wakeup Call” and “Drops of Jupiter,” respectively), I know this show is going to be a good one. They’ll be performing at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
1. Journey, Foreigner, and Night Ranger on July 24
This is sure to be one of the best tours of the year, and it’s not to be missed! Who knows when we’ll have a chance to see all three of these epic acts together like this again? The three will be at the Ashley Furniture Homestore Pavilion.
